You and your employer have a number options in regards to your training, including being able to choose your training provider and having input into how, when and where the training is delivered.
Training providers are known as Supervising Registered Training Organisations (SRTOs) and are either public (i.e. TAFE) or privately run organisations.

Most apprenticeship and traineeship training has traditionally been funded by the Queensland Government under ‘User Choice’ arrangements, as long as you are a new employee and meet other eligibility criteria. As an exsiting employee, your employer will be required to fund the training directly on a fee-for-service basis.
You are classed as an existing employee if you have been employed for a period of at least three months full-time or twelve months casual, part-time or a combination of both with your current employer, prior to commencing the Training Contract.
Your employer may still be eligible to attract Australian Government Incentives of up to $4,400 (GST Inc.) if you are an existing employee, which may be used to offset the costs of the training. For more information on eligibility click here
Ultimately it is up to your employer to choose a suitable training provider, though many employers choose to make this decision in conjunction with their apprentice or trainee. When choosing a training provider it is important to take into account their flexibility in meeting your training needs, including how, where and when the training will be delivered, their experience, ongoing support and how much input you and your employer have in the training delivered.
