There are a number of key industry stakeholders who play an important role in assisting employers, apprentices and trainees, job seekers and other interested parties in navigating the apprenticeships and traineeships system. These key stakeholders include:
Queensland Apprenticeship Services is an Australian Apprenticeships Centre contracted by the Australian Government to provide free information and advice, sign up and induct apprentices and trainees, help employers complete and lodge the paper work, assess and pay Government Incentives and undertake workplace visits
This Queensland Government Department administers, monitors and approves apprenticeships and traineeships, handles dispute resolution, wages and employment conditions and workplace health and safety issues
Job Network Providers are contracted by the Australian Government to recruit and match up job seekers (e.g. apprentices and trainees) to employers
SRTO's (also known as training providers) deliver the apprenticeship and traineeship induction, training and assessment. They may be a public (i.e.TAFE) or private training provider
This Australian Government Department contracts Australian Apprenticeships Centres to provide Australian Apprenticeships Support Services and manage the whole Australian Apprentichips system
GTO's employ apprentices and trainees directly, including looking after all the paperwork, wages and entitlements and then places them with a host employer for a fee.
