Who is QAS?

Queensland Apprenticeship Services (QAS) is an Australian Apprenticeships Centre contracted by the Australian Government to provide free apprenticeship and traineeship (also known as Australian Apprenticeships) services to employers, job seekers, apprentices, trainees and other interested parties.

QAS currently delivers services to North and North Western Queensland through its Cairns, Mount Isa and Townsville offices.

Support and assistance through 3 Regional offices, staffed by local people who understand your region and industry
Centralised account management for large and multi-site employers, making it easier to manage large numbers of apprentices and trainees

Payment of incentives & allowances

Northern Queensland’s most experienced team, ensuring accurate assessment and payment of incentive and allowance claims
Leading IT system to efficiently manage and report on incentive claims
Pre-filled incentive claim forms and reminders, making claiming incentives simple
Commitment to efficient processing and claim turn around times, meaning you receive your incentives sooner

Access to extensive networks

Strong links with major industry and regional networks
Assistance liaising with the Queensland Department of Education, Training and the Arts(DETA), who administer the apprenticeship and traineeship system
Links to quality interstate Australian Apprenticeships Centres for interstate or national employers

Queensland Apprenticeship Services was created as a business unit of Commerce Queensland to deliver support services to employers, current and potential apprentices and trainees and the community, as part of the Chamber's commitment to employment, education and training.
