Budget changes for apprenticeships and traineeships
The Australian Government have announced the new budget commencing on
12 May 2010 pertaining to apprenticeships and traineeships.
In addition to the standard incentives already available, The Apprentice Kickstart Extention may entitle employers and eligible Group Training Organisations (GTOs) to claim incentives up to $3,350, paid in instalments of $850 and $2,500.
To be eligible, employers and GTOs must employ an Australian Apprentice, commencing between 12 May 2010 and 12 November 2010, aged 19 years and under and who is undertaking a Certificate III or IV level qualification that leads to a skills shortage trade occupation.
