The Australian Minister for Vocational and Technical Education, the Honourable Gary Hardgrave MP, has announced the name "Australian Apprenticeships" will replace the scheme formerly known as New Apprenticeships. The names Australian Apprenticeships and Australian Apprenticeships Centres has been formally adopted from 1 July 2006.

Note: the Australia Government New Apprenticeships web site has also changed to www.australia.gov.au/australianapprenticeships
