The Minister for Vocational and Technical Education, the Honourable Gary Hardgrave MP, today renewed the government’s support for Queensland business, by announcing that Queensland Apprenticeship Services (QAS) had successfully been awarded a renewed contract to deliver New Apprenticeships Support Services in the North Queensland Region.
Operating in the region since 1998, QAS will continue to provide employers, job seekers and other interested parties with free apprenticeship and traineeship services (also known as New Apprenticeships), including information and advice, help with the sign-up process, administration of the paperwork and payment of government incentives.
Stephen Vines, the General Manager of QAS stated that support from the North Queensland community including employers, Group Training Organisations, schools, Job Network Providers and training organisations, has been critical to the success of this program. "Without their ongoing commitment, the region would never have achieved the strong apprenticeship and traineeship participation rates that it has" he said.
