Hire an Apprentice or Trainee
Apprenticeships and traineeships are the perfect vehicle for training and developing new and existing staff. And because much of the training is done at your workplace, the skills your apprentice or trainee acquires are customised to the specific needs of your organisation.
Furthermore, as an employer, you may be eligible for various government financial incentives to assist with employing an apprentice or trainee.
Increase your skill base - and lift productivity, morale and retention rates.
Your organisation benefits in many ways by employing an apprentice or trainee. Through their formal training and skill development, your apprentice or trainee’s contribution to your business will become increasingly valuable. Many employers also find that retention rates and staff morale are generally improved by investing in employee skills in this way.
Apprentices and trainees can be sourced as new employees or drawn from your existing workforce. For existing employees, being appointed as an apprentice or trainee is a great way of recognising their importance to your organisation which can cement a strong and mutually beneficial working relationship.
Apprenticeships and traineeships:
combine time at work with training and can be full-time, part-time* or school-based
are open to new or existing employees from 15 years of age
are offered in a range of industries
are offered at all certificate levels up to Advanced Diploma
allow you to choose your own apprentice or trainee.
* Some apprenticeships may only be offered full time.
Training is delivered on or off-the-job, or a combination of both.
School-based apprentices can start their apprenticeship while studying for the OP.
There are literally hundreds of qualifications available, ranging from traditional trades to emerging service industries, including engineering, mining, building, aviation, electronics, telecommunications, retail and financial services.
Queensland Apprenticeship Services helps employers to simplify and streamline the appointment and administrative management of their apprentices and trainees and helps ensure that all incentives and allowances are received.
Our services are funded under an Australian Government contract and are provided at no cost to you.
"QAS has been the initial point of contact for all apprenticeships and traineeships for the Quicksilver Group. We have always found their service to be professional, efficient and accurate"
